Christine, when you say that you don't need to listen to Rush with your own ears, because you have been convinced by a deep thinker like Al Yankovich! What can I say!! :-)

I always wondered who bought a political book from a comedian and then thought it was a deep thinking intellectual exercise. :-)

The political center of gravity on environmental issues has moved a long way in the last 30 years, mainly because of pressure from liberals. Resistance from conservatives has been a major factor in forcing liberals to articulate specific programs, rather than simply protesting. It's an ongoing process, and very dynamic. I doubt that either side alone will solve the problem without extensive dialogue, from which answers often emerge that neither of the arguing parties ever imagined.
