FWIW. Amazon.com may be in for some stiff competition.
Paxson Communications, the nation's largest owner of tv
stations will be entering the business of on line retailing. Please
visit www.pax.net to view its web site. Around the middle of
September Pax Promenade will begin operations. I do not
know the complete details, however it appears that Pax will be
selling items from it's cyberstore that have been advertised on
it's TV network, PAX TV. This will include books, cds, videos
etc. Pax TV is the new family station that will debut 31
August. Bud Paxson the majority owner and founder of
Paxson Communications has extensive experience with over
the air selling. He is the founder of Home Shopping Network.
If Pax decides to get serious with this project, it will be strong
competition for the likes of Amazon. Good luck to all.

AMZN is a loser with no name brand, no special service or technology, no barriers
towards entry to its market, huge and mounting losses, and more experienced, established
and well known competitiors. Despite whatever high hopes you place here, this stock is a
shorters wet dream.

:)

Zax,

You are correct! Barnes and Noble is making a wise business decisions to spin of 20% of their online business to finance the project. They also are not buying way off the wall companys at rediculous prices. BKS has good business accumen and is approaching e-commerce in a professional manner with a goal and profitability in mind. Amazon is just throwing their investors money every which way since the investors "gave" it to them.

The most recent 8K on Jungalee is so telling. It is so utterly rediculous.
