OT-
Does anyone know who makes the powerbook screens and anything about their quality in the industry? I have a coworker who is so impressed with my powerbook screen he is thinking of dumping his older thinkpad and switching to the mac. he wants to know more about the screen, but I don't know where to send him.

thanks :)

<<I hope the consumer portable is under $500-something like a cool and powerful PDA.>>

Newton LC was supposed to be a small handheld about the size of a Palm Pilot. I would guess that to be in the $400 to $500 range.

Of course, they canned it before production. I hear you can get some discounts leather cases with the Newton logo on them with LC embossed on them.

I hope they are taking some of the manufacturing lessons there and applying to the consumer portable.
