Nancy <<earnings plays become harder because of forward looking statements - some would come out with excellent numbers but a mild, boiler plate type of caution in their forward looking statements will be a kiss of death in this environment>> I didn't make myself clear. I'm talking about companies like: ASI (acustaff); TRL (total renal care), CPWR.. etc.. companies that grow 30% or more a year, companies that have never missed a quarter. There are companies like that out there. I also would like to hold them no longer than 1-2 weeks at most (usually after they've reported it's safer) and more likely 1-3 days (before they report).

Nancy it's holding through earnings that could lead to problems.. I held over very few through earnings this week. TOL, RMCT,CMVT,LCOS.. I didn't hold JDEC unfortunately.

But sometimes it's the word of caution that sinks their ship.. perhaps if you take out companies with exposure to asia.. companies like TOL and BBY you'd be better off. Just change the 'formula' a little.. nancy, how about a fine company like FORMF or ZLC. These have been earnings plays for the past few seasons, no warnings there!!
