SBull

My experience tells me all this is "white noise" and it is only the economic fundamentals that matter. When the economic fundamentals reign supreme and we get to all new time highs many people will have missed making serious money unless of course they decide to stay the course and invest.

A couple of Bob's indicators, low inflation and low interest rates, usually mean a good market. Unless due to deflation. If deflation is what is going on, look for the stock market to start another, bigger leg down in early September. The S&P 500 broke through major support this week at 1032. Not a good sign. There's apparently some support around S&P 1000, then not much until 960.

Stock Bull: RE:<He recommended that investor use this correction as a buying opportunity, and they will see the rewards sometime next year>

I heard "those investing now will be very please BY NEXT YEAR, not sometime next year. I also heard "this market could have a reversal and head up". I inferred that the release this Tuesday of the "Leading Indicators which had been negative for the past 2 months could be the trigger since it is expected to be PLUS 3. I also inferred the trigger could be something that gets announced during the upcoming Russian summit that might raise hopes that something will be done about the Russian economic meltdown other than reverting back to the failed communist economic model. I also heard that FED concern about the drop in the markets worldwide and the global economic situation may force the FED to lower rates fairly soon - that could help 1998 (2nd half) and 1999 corporate profits. Better profits coupled with higher P/E's due to falling interest rates would support the stock market imho. Frankly, I felt a lot better about the prospects for the market during the coming weeks after hearing the program :-)
