Gary Korn faxed me the 4 analyst reports he received from Irene at PAIR. After reading the documents, it's pretty convincing PAIR is well positioned to win the Bell Atlantic and SBC contracts (i.e. the contracts are there for them to lose). This confirms the upbeat comment from Strauch during the 2Q CC where he indicated at least one (likely BA) was pretty much in the bag. Good news is coming! We should see moves up in the next two to three weeks on the order of 2 points per contract. This momentum combined with takeover speculations as LU can begin using stock to purchase companies in general will fuel a telecom sector bounce.

The question still remains RE whether PAIR supplied equipment to SBC prior to the SBC/Ameritech merger. The analyst reference may be with respect to the new SBC/Ameritech company. PAIR is an approved product supplier to Ameritech and the interpretation may be relative to the implied relationship following the merger. Will post pending findings when available.

In the past three trading sessions, the competition (I will use this moniker instead of the MMs who INSIST on A****) has dropped from a high of around 29 to 24.5 (Friday close) on LOW VOLUME. This 20% plummet does not appear to have a bottom as the 50 and 100 day moving averages imply. Time for PUT options?

PAIR on the other hand shows significant support at the current level AND appears to begin trending UP.

Analysis and info from the TA folks on this board is greatly appreciated.
