Ah, what the heck, the public will probably sucker for MMX2 just like they did for MMX if the chip they stick it on is faster. Remember the Pentium MMX was a faster chip that the regular Pentium even without MMX because of a larger cache. So the public will ask, "what does this MMX2 do for me"? and the answer will be, "it's a faster chip even without MMX2 apps.
