I think that the Fed SHOULD act sooner rather than later to lower interest rates. If they wait, it appears that they will have to chase to catch up with the deflationary tendencies (see JAPAN for example). However, I am not an economist and the Fed doesn't consult me before actions.

Thus, I am afraid that the Fed inflation hawks will hold off until close to year end. If they do and continue to keep monetary growth flat, the next several months could be, er, interesting.
