Well jim, this marketzoid n-gin-ear read the link. sgi makes an impressive 128 processor box. I've worked with a 32 head 2000. It's sweet. The question is other than me and the North Koreans, who wants to pay for one of these. I don't have the cash. But I hear the North Korean's want to buy 10 at five times list price in rouples. Course the russian's wanted em but they got caught. I don't think uncle pig vomit has any money, He gave it all to monica. Any way of more interest is the fact that quad zeon's are going to be pricey and how does that bode for O200's. Course quad zeon's can only compete in integer when running linux. Don't think sgi is going to sell zeon boxes to run linux. An no one I know will question that sgi has the float wrapped up. Rumbling's say that alpha's with linux are not super stable and are not for the weak of heart. If you have a project requiring dozens of alpha, the nre on integration can be traded off on cost of hardware. ramble ramble ramble. And as zeon's stay pricey sgi can complete. Intel never's cuts prices for market share on mars. Alass I've found out that hardware accelerated opengl for linux is not around the corner. This may help sgi. But making money on high end NT boxes is a low probability.
