Hi Wallace,

I live in the oil patch and in the last two months most of the large old service companies and drillers have been laying off workers big time. Even the gas production division Weatherford Entera--now EVI have been laying off CNC machinist recently---machinist are always difficult to find and hardly ever get layed off. Halliburton, Schlumberger and Baker Hughes are all competitors of EVI.
The general consensus in the local community is that this down turn may worsen.

Emile

"ON TOPIC" - to anyone interested.

If you're new to the sector and want to learn about getting oil/gas from a deepwater deposit, Shell E&P has created a web site which gives details of announced future developments (with field layout drawings, fact sheets, and photos)
1) Go to countonshell.com
2) Click on "Shell Exploration and Production Company" in the lefthand column
3) Click on "SEPCO General" in the drop down list
4) Scroll down the left hand frame and click to view the different deepwater developments
5) Click on "photos"......some are automated

Now let your mind run rampant on the drillers, boat companies, suppliers and construction companies it takes to make this happen!

Regards.
