"The Morgan Stanley briefing you posted back on 8/10/98 showed
61.3 million shares outstanding with a market cap of 1.9 billion; yet
the company released a 38.1 million weighted average shares
outstanding. Any idea where Stephanie came up with her numbers?"

Hi Gary,
I think Stephanie is wrong (not the first time). The 61.3MM number she used is probably the current fully diluted shares. I don't think it's proper context to use fully diluted shares to calculate market cap. I think the 38.1 MM is the real number of shares outstanding, giving a market cap of less that 850MM now.

Looks like most of the Asian markets are down tonight; China down 3%, Hong Kong down over 5%, but Japan looks up. I'd think US might try to rise, but any rally will probably be sold into and not last long. Hopefully WinStar can come up with enough news during the next couple weeks to stem the bleeding, but hopefully not waste any great news in this terrible market.
