Bits of news:

---The handsets for the Iridium global satellite handheld phone service are
expected to cost subscribers a hefty US$3,395 to US$4,395, depending on the
package of services that are required. A global pager, however, will only
cost US$695.

--PanAmSat is also thought to be interested in expanding its regional
presence in Asia by forming relationships with regional satellite operating
companies. Sources say that PanAmSat has recently been eyeing the prospects
of acquiring stakes in Hong Kong-based Asia Satellite Telecommunications,
the Malaysian Measat satellite system owned by Binariang and the new ST-1
system, jointly owned by Singapore Telecom and Chunghwa Telecom of Taiwan.
PanAmSat currently operates satellites providing Indian Ocean and Pacific
Ocean region coverage for AsiaPacific.

--now, for completely useless info, here it is! The second son of Suharto, who owns much of Satelindo(Indonesian satellite co.) hs a great name--Bambang Trihatmojo--isn't that the best!

Gee Mike, thought you'd appreciate news that affects the share price of Loral. Because it was political news, I labeled it * OT* and merely posted the link. As such, you don't have to read it if you have no desire. So, with all due courtesy, go back to whatever it is you do and keep your lectures to yourself.
