RE "New to Thread. Was there a bear market last Oct? If so how long did it last? "

Yes, there was a correction last Oct but it really didn't last very long and except for the small caps I don't think anyone would consider it a bear market.

Personally, I see all this crap going on as a great opportunity to buy leap calls. Every scrap of spare cash I can dig up is going into buying leaps for the areas that have gotten hit big this past month and are historically the leaders coming back. I have bought leaps in BMY & CMB and am looking to get some DELL & LU when I get some more cash in my account.

As for Dell ... what can I say, I know many of you find TA to be complete bull. I know many of you probably saw my "Anatomy of a stock under a pending split" posts & thought "whatever ... B.S. ... " and ignored it. If you look at those posts and then look at Dells chart for this past 2 weeks you'll see that Dell has acted almost exactly the way I told it. This past Friday's downturn was expected, it came a few days to soon and we may see the big run-up and drop happen again before the split but other than that Dell is doing what it's suppose to do in this situation.
