Larry - sound reasoning. I would add that the number of investors in the market now makes predictions highly unreliable, since we (as a whole) seem to bring all manner of lunacy, fear, irrationality and of course, greed, to a non-science. All it takes to scare or panic a portion of the investor community is some form of news - and we are all able to get news so quickly now and can react to it so quickly that the fluctuations are greater and occur more rapidly than they have historically. And, sorry to say it, given what I see on various boards and in postings (most notably Yahoo), the intelligence level of some of these purported "investors" is contributing to the lemming-like movements.

I fear that the future holds only more immediacy and thus, even more volatility as more investors find the net and our sources of news become more and more immediate (but less and less thorough and reasoned).

>>AG has publicly
and privately stated numerous times that 'this is the best period for the US economy that
he has ever seen in his life'.<<

Exactly why you should be concerned. Sorry, we are not in a new era.
Financial markets signal what is to come before it happens. Recession is on the way. There has been a huge explosion in consumer credit.

Ask yourself this: Are you more willing to borrow money to purchase a big ticket item now than you were 6 months ago? For many, the answer is no.

Larry,

Very well put Larry. The fundamentals still appear to be very bright for the US economy, so the stock market is still a good place to be.

I have been investing for over 20 years now, and it amazes me how fear and greed can move markets so fast, both up and down.

This appears to be nothing more than a end-of-summer sale. I for one am picking up some bargains -- I'm willing to bet that LU and CSCO will be around and quite successful for quite a long time.

The stock market is the only store I know of where everyone runs to the exits when the merchandise goes on sale!

Good Luck,

Darrell
