Xia Qui.. the article on Hong Kong Government buying stocks has a wrinkle not discussed. If they continue to buy, which they are able to with current levels of foreign reserves, they can essentially do a state takeover of companies there... if you're a mainland Chinese that's not all that bad an idea.

Frankly, they're getting very good prices for companies, discount nationalization... no bullets, no tanks. We think its a little crazy for their government to be buying, but they're saying "thank you very much.."

The unloading of these shares on the open market, should that happen, is the reverse of nationalization.. privatization... again something many countries have been involved in for a while including the US.
