Just heard from CNN the IMF fundings agreed on are still on hold pending a more stable system..never the less..Also, I do believe Clinton will be a reassuring force, however diminished anyone needs to feel he is, for prurient partisan research, or just loss of respect. The two weakened leaders may yet create some strong message.

It now appears from CNN that the Moderate party leader is also voting against Chernomyrdin. I would hope this is positioning, due to the structure of government you pointed out with it's protections from falling back into what it was.

A leader of a miner's union was telling a reporter he knew the leaders were pocketing money from the people, but that he didn't want to see his country go back to a Communist rule. Who knows if this was representative of many of the people in Russia or not?
