I could just as easily read those quotes as evidence for the need for bloodless revolution...and nowhere did I see mention of the necessity to bear arms to overthrow a gov. which they were only in the process of forming.

Like a lot of gun advocates, you read history like a fundamentalist reads the Bible.... But on second thought, maybe you are right. Just as fundamentalists amend the Bible from time to time to suit the times, so too can Americans amend their constitution should the majority find need to do so...something for which I AM quite sure the Founding Fathers made provision.

In case you missed it, I made a point to separate myself from being anti-second amendment, and took issue only with the revisionist history which the NRA has successfully lobbied into (still only a few) history books. But now the point is moot, as your credibility vanished with the first, and highly unnecessary, sentence of your post.
