How I envy you, 5 minutes to saltwater fishing. I'd love to do some saltwater fly fishing but I'm 1,000 from the water and really pathetic with a fly rod. I fish the Illinois River a bit but it's not the same. On a good day the river looks like it could be plowed. Having a motor on a boat really gives you some freedom. I've got a 225 on my bass boat so that gives me a realistic range of 60 miles from the launch ramp. Used to do some small pond fishing with a canoe but those places are all private now.
