Hi Rob!

I like to use a different one (money flow indicator). The one I use does a tick-by-tick calculation throughout a trading day. When a stock is stuck in a box like this one, I like to watch the indicators when the price nears the edges of the box. (AMZN is in a box pattern right now). During this basing pattern, money has been leaving the stock at the tops, and entering near the bottoms.

The money flow I use = sum [(1 if trade an uptick, -1 if trade a downtick) * (volume of trade) * (price of trade)] for all trades in a day.
