In Nebraska's opener the star quarterback, Bobby Newcombe, injures his knee... Oh no! How am I going to get through poverty without a good football distraction this fall.

On top of this, Purdue loses the opener to USC after a being up 17 to 7 in the first half.

Oh well - back to the markts.

Early opening in Tokyo isn't too bad.

TOKYO, Aug 31 (Reuters) - Tokyo stocks slid into negative
territory after a short-lived rise on Monday morning amid
worries about Russia's political situation, dealers said.
Concern bills to clean up Japan's staggering 87 trillion
yen bad loans mess will get stalled in parliament also weighed
on the market.
As of 0025 GMT, the benchmark Nikkei average was down 36.96
points, or 0.27 percent, at 13,878.67.
September futures were up 130 at 13,870.
