We also haven't been repairing toasters since the dawn
of the PC age, but it is still quite common in third world
countries. What makes sense in the US doesn't clik everywhere.
Most 486 computers have PC bios ok, I say that as a guess/extrapolation of my own experience. Also, most cheap
PC systems are not depended upon for date-dependent
mission-critical applications. Another guess. Anyway
worldwide is going to be slow for a while, no longer do we have the "awaking consumer nations" as a leg in the Financial Story sage.

If you've been in PC biz long you know it is cyclical and while
it won't die there are inevitable down- and up-turns. We've been up, usually that is followed (in not predictable fashion)
by a down. If you mistake the peak of a profit cycle for
a "change of paradigm" and discount higher growth to the
hereafter, as AG charges we've done, then the mistake in
valuation is compounded by the greater PE afforded.
Multiple should decrease as earnings pick up,
but instead they have increased.
