"Where is the money going now? "

In uncertain markets such as this, cash is king.

Especially when some of the better money market funds are yielding 5.3+%.

RE: Where Is The Money Going?

David, in uncertain times in worldwide markets, money tends to flow to 'safe havens'. Investors and fund managers in particular are willing to settle for small risk free returns. The bond activity suggests that money may be flowing there. If's called capital preservation and that is exactly the kind of strategy that I think that Bob is talking about when he talks about removing all of his money from the market if/when a bear market is sighted.

There has been talk of large institutional shorting and higher than normal put options activity. Some of the money may be going there as well.

If the world economic situation begins to settle down later this year, there could be a rush to get back into stocks, but it is certainly anyones guess at this point where all of this is going and how long it is going to take.
