Yes, you do. In fact, just about every video
driver has evolved from Pentium-optimized to
Pentium-II optimized, in order to gain performance
from differently behaving and new instructions.
For the FPU in particular, a Pentium-"optimized"
code typically behaves poorer on P-II than on a
486-style code.
