No need to check his credentials. I know all about him. But that argument is silly. I could say the same thing: check out Bill and Hillary's credentials. Theirs can easily go toe-to-toe with Starr's. Does that mean Bill and Hill are ethical or haven't committed some wrongful acts? Of course not. Just because a man clerked for Warren Burger or was SG of the United States doesn't mean that he didn't wallow in the mud with Linda Tripp. It doesn't mean that he didn't break DOJ's own official prosecutorial guidelines by aiding and abetting illegal phone taping by Linda Tripp. That in fact is why this is so disappointing -- that Starr appears to have so little moral spine that despite all his wonderful credentials, he would not put a stop to his attack-dog prosecutors like Hickman Ewing and Jackie Bennett. There are ways to investigate the President of the United States, and there are ways to prosecute a county commissioner in Arkansas with his hand in the till. The problem is that Ewing and Bennett don't appear to know the difference, and Starr has exercised no control. Perhaps it's because Starr was too busy working for his billion-dollar corporate clients like the Tobacco Companies and other members of the death industry.
