Patrick, and all:

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal yesterday that I thought interesting. Here is part: Circuit City Stores Inc. said it estimates net income for the fiscal second quarter-ended yesterday was in-line with Wall Street's expectations, but said its digital video project will reduce second-half earnings by 45 cents per share if it doesn't receive appropriate financing before the end of the fiscal year.

Circuit City said it will continue to seek financing for Digital Video Express, which if successful would offer low-priced movies and programming on video disks but would charge consumers for initial repeat viewings. Circuit City has said it's looking for investors but hasn't committed to one yet. "

Circuit City is of course, pushing DIVX, but perhaps with not much favorable response.

But, you may be right. the battle between DVD and DIVX may be won on PC's.
