Gustave, I'll bet you a kilo of Belgian pralines that Greenspan does nothing. Remember his comments about how the Asian crisis would be beneficial to slowing inflation in the US? The way he thinks, he likes these events as a throttle on US inflation.

As for Japan, they don't need a negative real interest rate, they need a huge across the board tax cut.
