President Clinton celebrated his 51st birthday last week, hope he didn't have a midlife crisis and go and do something foolish.

INDEX UPDATE
---------------------

Per my previous notes I am expecting some sort of upswing up to/near SEPT 3, so the big question is how will the market react over the next few days.

It is actually common for the reversal to actually start with a flat day/DOJI (plus or minus 30 DOW points) at the close.

With the S&P futures up 8 (of course can change on the dime), it appears that that there is a fair chance that we could close flat of up today. Please keep in mind that it is common that after a big swing in either direction, a DOJI formation can be a reversal signal.

If we do close flat or up today, that normally implies that we should be up tomorrow, at least intraday.

Assuming that we are up over the next few days, watch the market internals to see if there is major improvement. In respect in the NEW HIGHs/NEW LOWs, I would want to see the NEW LOWs to get back under 100 and the NEW HIGHs to get back into the 100-150 range, to indicate that we could be bottoming out. Such may be hard to achieve in this specific short-term upswing(1-5) days, since the period is so short. I feel that if the NEW HIGHs/LOWs do not achieve those levels almost immediately (1-5 days), then the negativity in the market most likely will continue.

If today closes up nicely, watch for a DOJI in the following days for the possible start of a reversal to the downside.

Seeya
