I suppose you're talking about Rep. Jim McDermott who took tapes from a couple who pulled conversations off Rep. John Boehner's cell phone using their police scanner. Well different situation. The couple that recorded Boehner was given immunity so they could testify about McDermott who leaked the conversations. Charges were never filed against McDermott, so Boehner sued McDermott (It's amazing to me that it's the Republicans who bitch and moan about litigiousness, and yet they are the ones filing all the frivolous suits these days: Jones, Rutherford "Institute", Larry Klayman et al.). A respected (Republican) federal judge tossed out Boehner's lawsuit saying it was childish, frivolous, and McDermott's actions were protected by Congressional speech and debate clause immunity. Tripp on the other hand is going to be cruxified by prosecutors who have her in their targets and have no reason to offer any kind of immunity. Hee Hee, I can't wait until that uggo is locked up.
