Henry,

Frankly, I think you're dealing with the bombing issue on the wrong track, the emotional one that is:
'' The notion that the French would bomb two US embassies and think the US would be unable to track it back to them is idiotic. The French may be arrogant and obnoxious but they are not that stupid.''

You see, Henry, it's not a matter of stupidity, arrogance, or obnoxiousness... please leave all this nonsense to Hollywood movies (featuring James Bond or Rambo). If the CIA was on a serious track leading to a supposedly allied country then it'd be up to the Americans not to be that stupid by bursting out such a diplomatic dynamite!! Hey, btw, do you remember how all this Central Africa turmoil started on? It started the night a French aircraft, with a French crew on board, was shot down as it was landing in Kigali, Ruanda. The target: the presidents of both Ruanda and Burundi were aboard the plane... Up to now, we still don't know who shot the missile... Was it Omar bin Laden? Even if the executioners were local Tutsi tribesmen, they were likely armed by some Western power...

Further, regarding the US's remarkable ability to track down perpetrators... are you kidding? Then tell me why the FBI hasn't arrested the culprits in the Dahran (Saudi Arabia) bombing that killed hundreds of US soldiers! They're supposed to investigate ''hand in hand'' with the Saudi services... Well, big problem: this bombing likely involves members of the royal family... Are the US ready to put in a Florida jail a high-ranking Saudi prince? For a 300-years imprisonment? Just next to Noriega's cell?

Re the currency conspiracy, let's wait until after September 1998...

Gustave.
