Hi Lisa:

Can someone who has been around tell me the last time we saw such a financial/political mess around the world?

Actually, I have not been around enough, but I can say that the situation before the 87 drop did not feel as bad as it feels now. To make it worse, I don't see anything that could turn the situation around quickly for any of the many trouble spots.

Russia: increasing probability of an open coup (rather than the coup behind the scenes that is in progress)

Japan/Hong Kong: at breaking point, just before the collapse

US: FED lowering interest rates? Counter-productive, since it implies that the FED expects a crash.

The situation is really scary and I don't just mean for the stock market.

I wished I could be more optimistic.

Regards,

Phil

Good Mornin' SWEETUMS QUEEN...Are you hearing talk of
margin calls on the baby boomers?

That and the devaluation of the rimimbi yuan will
lead us to DOW 7000.

imho.

OT Since Fearless Leader is taking all the credit for our good economy and situation in the world up to now, I wonder if he'll get any of the blame for what we're now seeing. They don't call him Slickster for nothing.

INDEX UPDATE
-------------------

Dont need to say how bad the market looks. For those looking to enter PUTs, I am not so sure that today is the best day implying that todays lows may be the short-term bottom, where ever that darn intraday low is.

I will still expect some sort of a bounce, but again it should be small, maybe just 50-100 points off the lows and only intraday.

This convincing break of 8000 is a strong confirmation of LOWER LOWS in the near future.

The latest reading on UP-MO was .75, so the up-momentum does have some strength, and I feel we should bounce.

The VIX appears to form a double top today when it hit 45 range again and now is in a bullish trend (heading down).

I think todays lows will be the bottome and the rebound to start anywhere from there. Will try to set new targets as possible buy-in points to obtain PUTs.
