<<...number of Presidents in the past who have had extra-marital affairs...ability to lead... not been affected...>>

I would submit that had their affairs been known to the public at the time it WOULD have severely affected their ability to lead.

<<But one thing need not have anything to do with the other>>

In my mind, the issue is not about Clinton's sex life, it's about his ability to perform his Presidential duties (no jokes here guys) with his credibility and integrity so in doubt.

To put it bluntly, I don't care how we got here, this is where we are. Domestically, Clinton is seen as a liar and manipulator of words, which puts serious limits on his ability to push an agenda or act effectively as a leader. Internationally, his credibility is very suspect due to the behind-the-scenes manipulation of the Iraqi inspections and what is seen as U.S. heavy-handedness in using the IMF as a "weapon" to push U.S. issues. Because of his connections with China and his "betrayal" of Taiwan, our allies our nervous about our commitments to them, especially in light of Hillary's comments regarding a Palestinian state.

Whether we like it or not, unless the credibility issues (it's not about sex!!) are quickly dealt with and put behind us, Clinton may be doing more harm than good. For you Clinton supporters, do you think Clinton can be effective if his opponents refuse to let go of the scandals? Let's face it, this is unlikely to go away any time soon. Assuming that it won't go away, what should Clinton do, and why?

>>>There need not be a correlation between a person fulfilling his or her professional responsibilities as a Public Servant and the way they operate sexually

Not the issue at all; but lying in court, under oath, and then staring the American people in the face, wagging his finger for emphasis, and LYING THROUGH HIS TEETH prove his absolute unworthiness to hold office. The guy BELIEVES HE CAN LIE WITH IMPUNITY. Then he compounded the impact of his lying by faulting someone else for it.
