You misunderstand. pz said that my argument that Starr was unethical was wrong for the SOLE REASON that Starr has stalwart credentials. My point is that a person's credentials don't tell you anything about their ethics and they certainly don't immunize someone from being attacked on their ethics. I don't defend Bill and Hill's ethics on the basis that he was a Yale law grad, a Rhodes Scholar, a law professor, the Attorney General and Governor of Arkansas and she was a Valedictorian at Wellesley, a Yale Law grad, a staff lawyer on the Watergate investigation, toiled for many years for Legal Services and the Children's defense fund. And I don't think Starr's actions today can be defended on the basis of his curriculum vitae.
