Isn't dollar cost averaging just averaging down when a stock or market is pulling back?

I'll have to disagree with the "never, ever average down" comment!

As Warren Buffet says, buy good quality companies and if the market puts them on sale while the fundamentals are still the same, then buy some more!

Averaging down has been great in my experience! Made a killing by averaging down in IBM, RMBS, MRK, INTC, CYTO, ICOS, FORE, and many more! Got killed doing it with TMX, and MU! Currently doing it in DJT and NETVA/CS!

Never say never! The key is change in the fundamentals! MRVC has not changed the fundamentals...no funny money and cooked books as pinko suggests, just a short fall in growth rate and an ass kicking in the market because of Noams' incredible knack for bad timing! I'm trying to be a buyer below $6 but I think we may get a $2 pop from these levels before I can get back in! This is a steal now, but in this kind of market one can afford to be stingy on the bid side for the next couple of months!
