<<If one ever needed a reason to not be a short term trader or investor, the market of the past year is a good object lesson.>>

Holy cow! I strongly disagree with this. As a short-termer I've made very good money several times on the volatility of THQI at earnings time. Many short-term traders that I know have had a great time this past year because a successful short-termer is quick to take losses when things turn ugly. The people who got nailed, I think, are those who deceived themselves into believing they were long termers and then sold too late when they discovered that their temperament wasn't suited to holding when their stocks headed south. Meanwhile, I really don't think this current market rout will continue much longer without there being a strong recovery bounce, so I bought back into THQI for the first time since I sold my last longs at a presplit 35 1/4. (I'm not counting the puts I bought then.)
