You want to call it pandering, I'll call it a legitimate way for him to explain why after a lifetime of being on the side of tobacco, he was having a change of heart. I'd like to think that we have politicians and public servants who can change their minds on the merits without always being accused of pandering, but maybe our politics have degraded so much, we're not open to that anymore. Many say that is one of the most heart-felt, moving speeches they have seen Gore give. But I guess we can disagree over that, too.
