No. Asset allocation, as Bob uses the term, refers to the percentage of your total investment portfolio that is in equities (stocks and equity mutual funds) versus the percentage that is in fixed income investments (bonds, etc). His comments indicate that, as one gets closer to retirement, or to otherwise needing the money, one should adjust the ratio towards the 50/50 range.
