Don...CNBC has been telling all that it was the young and experienced who know only how to buy dips. So now which is it?

Dan, IMO, portfolio managers both young and old are always cognizant of the bonus picture, if only in the back of their minds. Many have seen down markets, but fewer have witnessed a growling bear. My guess is they are just not taking chances any forthcoming bear comes a growlin'. Recent net mutual fund redemptions and margin calls have added to the downward pressures. When yearling fund managers see reports of Soros' Quantum Funds loosing $2.0 billion in Russian investments, their reactions can easily turn into a knee jerk defensive posture.

If you are considering doing a story on this apparent phenomenon, I would think it has legs.
