Yousef H., Re: "Intel Corp. (INTC) forecasts higher earnings for the latter
half of the year, Sean Maloney, Intel's vice president and co-director of sales
and marketing, said here Monday."

Excellent, thanks. Sean is the Intel VP who said last Monday, in conjunction with the new Celerons and 450 MHz PII rollout, that second half volumes for Intel would be up from 1H. A bunch of people jumped all over those that took it as great for the stock, saying 'so what', increasing volumes at lower ASPs don't mean anything. Well, now he's saying higher earnings. I'm sure next they'll be saying 'well so they make money in back-to-school and holiday seasons, so what.' Well, for one thing, I see that AMD managed to lose money in both 3Q and 4Q '97. Of course, they lose money in more quarters than they make money, so, big deal, I guess.
