Got suspended from jr. high for shooting craps out of season. The plastic will smear on the forcing cone part of the barrel, that's where the chamber necks down into the barrel proper. Called the throat in a rifle. It's cosmetic and cleans easily with a brass brush. Some sheet loads use the old fiber wads as in skeet you want the pattern to open quickly. The last two shots are taken at about 6 feet with the target coming at you. I use a brush, wrapped in steel wool, on a rod hooked to a drill to really polish the barrel.
