Paul, What yoy say is partly true, you fail to add that they have foregone huge profits in this defence of share.
And still share erodes, like water through a sieve the fickle consumer fails to heed your logic.

Paul, Re: Intel has recently had a market share FAR iN EXCESS of its historical market share - 85% to 90% vs. 70%.

Most critics of Intel would only focus on the best quarters
of Intel which I believe is 3Q97 and 4Q97 where Intel has the
highest gross margin and market share. They just backward
projected that to make people believe that Intel has always
performed like.
