Don,

Like everyone else, I appreciate your thoughtful (and generally correct) remarks. Just so you can feel better, I not only sold my puts but also bought calls to catch the bounce! OOOPS!

This is the fourth serious down day. Human nature being what it is, I doubt that this will continue. Gotta be a bounce soon. Historic DJI shows that big downward moves are only 3-4 days long before a bounce.

Best of Luck to All,
Pencil

Donald,

I'm beginning to wonder if the S/MMs are onto people looking for
a rally to short into, and won't let it happen. Not a pretty
thought, since this major wave from July is just the first.

I would not be shocked if we hit the 10% trade collar this week
in a panic washout. If so the next step would be a rally that
brings people back from that pale free-fall look (you know the
way up look when you first get a severe flu bug and no food can
be in the same room without causing gastronomical violence).

If it goes that way, then we aren't there yet. I am not predicting
a price for a bottom. What I am telling you is my gut feeling is
that this first wave down won't die until panic reaches levels MUCH
worse than in 1987.
