Jose -
What are the dates for completion of the major milestones in DAPRA contract?

Completetion of contract is 2 years from now.

2) Do you have info on the percentage of total contract pay out for each of the milestones?

No, I don't.

3) What is the structure of the contract? Is it cost plus? If so what is the margin?

It is cost plus a profit. I don't know what the margin is.

4) Could you please outline the required accomplishments at each milestone?

I don't have specific dates, but here are the goals I listed in my notes. (These aren't the same as in the booklet that they sent me in the mail. In that they used 1-Watt, 10-Watt, 50-Watt and 100-Watt):
1. Build and test 30-Watt XRL source
2. Build and test 60-W source
3. Build and test 90-W source (alpha stage)
4. Build and test 90-W source (beta stage)
4. Collimator development

The booklet says goals are to be accomplished by the end of 1998, however, my notes say 2 years, so I'm not sure on this.

I don't know that this will help in figuring earnings. I didn't get any breakdown of the contract, as far as payouts go.

Betty

Jose - I found out a little more about how the DARPA money is paid out. Approximately one-half of the $13 mil. has been funded by the govt. this year and will be paid before the end of 1998. The rest will come in 1999. The money is paid out with NO connection to goals being met, however the govt. conducts performance reviews with JMAR quarterly. Sometimes goals are met in a differing order than they were originally outlined -- one goal might be lagging, while another is met ahead of schedule. The govt. review is concerned with the "total progress" of the project.
