WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN???? We ain't headed for one, WE GOTS ONE!!!

Wouldn't you say a 17% sell-off from the peak, and most of it in the last 4 days constitutes a CRASH???

Not by a long shot. I don't think the circuit breakers have been triggered yet. The market is gathering momentum on the downside and could easily drop 20% in a single day.

Too many leveraged positions out there, and too little cash.

Bill, you wouldn't call this "out in force"? I'd say fear is pretty widespread and, with -512 on the Dow, 925 million shares on the NYSE, trin of 3.22, trin-5 of 8.18, VIX ending at about 48, and absolute, wet their pants, panic finally hitting the bubble and momo stocks (of course, they are still overvalued), this looks like a capitulation day to me, BWDIK?

Guess what - the Dow is down 19.3% from the high. S&P exactly the same. Nasdaq now down 26%. It may not be over as we could still see a recession and 30%+ bear market, but some nibbling in quality value plays, small/micro caps, things already extremely beaten down (that the momo guys don't own) seems in order. There are some bargains out there for long-term positions.

JMO,
Bob

Bill,

Will you be changing the title of the thread?

Some suggestions:

The arrival of the big Kahuna
Waiting for the end of the big Kahuna
Living through the big Kahuna
What's next after the big Kahuna

and of course big Kahuna XVI Bill meets Jason.

Can't wait to watch the news tonight.
Anybody heard from Abby? We should be REALLY REALLY undervalued now!

Hi Bill and All,

We got back just recently, we had an incredible time. What have you guys done to this market??? I agree with you Bill, if this isn't a crash, then what is? If we test 6850-7180 this time around and retest these levels late October, then I'll be buying for the next bull market. Otherwise, I'll keep all my powder dry and enjoy the show. I guess the music stopped and everyone is russian (pardon the pun) for the exits.

Regards to all.
