daytrading/swing trading versus value holding I doubled my trading portfolio since January 1 and my "value" portfolio is ... well.. let's just say I would have made the same amount of money if I kept it hidden in the mattress for six months. The sad part is that I kept drawing cash from my long term portfolio to trade the internets and other hi-flyers during their heyday and the third time I wanted to draw from my account, the broker says: you should not trade any more than x$ in your trading portfolio, it's not safe. Well, Mr. Fancy Company Silk Suit Investment Broker, you kept it real safe for me, didn't you? That's okay it wasn't his fault.. but when you are judging daytraders and swing traders remember today and remember the logic of getting into cash almost every night.
