Mike - it was Joseph Kennedy who got a lecture on stock selection from his (young) "bootblack."

This is not just some apocryphal story, but supposedly definitely happened. There was an article in Forbes (within the last year or year and a half) that showed a photo of the (I think) still living "former bootblack of Joe Kennedy." The article was actually about the business that the bootblack's (now grown) son is involved in.
