Dear Don and Anyone Else Who Can Help:
I have tried for weeks now to get Fidelity to "approve" me for buying options. For heavens sake I only want to start with covered calls and I have the stocks!!!!!
And Datek does not do options yet though they keep telling us "any day".
So...does anyone have a brokerage they can use on or off line that doesnt charge up the ying yang and gives better service than I am getting? Does every brokerage give you fits before they "allow" you to use options? I have been with Fidelity for 14 years for goodness sake (most, I admit just buying mutual funds) so I dont understand the delay. I understand now that selling covered calls is a great way to protect my margined shares.
Help Help.
P.S. I am over my sissyfit from yesterday. I know I am a crybaby but at least I recover reasonably fast. I probably should not have sold any Dell but I dont want to get a margin call and have to sell under 100. When I can do covered calls I can get those shares back (and probably cheaper from what the crazy market is doing.)
