You posted that that stuff was from an economics textbook - I assume there may be very bad textbooks out there, and I would like you to post the authors, and the title of that book. Otherwise it may be prudent to assume you just invented whatever you say you read in a book. My friend Joseph, One of my professors for my graduate curriculum years ago was a former economic advisor to Paul Volcker, Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board during the Reagan Administration. The Great Depression was a particular item of study and discussion on proper and improper use of governmental fiscal and monetary policy. If you want her name, it's Prof Karma Hajimamalakis (sp?). She was an awesome professor, and I strongly recommend her class. bucky89
