> The driving force behind these markets (technology)

technology doesn't drive markets. technology drives fundamental
improvements in efficiency and productivity which measures in
the low single digits, and that during periods of maximum
utilization.

Rashid, I agree, but technology is not going to drive a thriving economy, it is going to kill it. It has to this point, but the bubble economy the market only goes up has burst. it's a no brainer.

The driving force behind these markets (technology) is not a passing fad

I agree, but tech invites deflationery pricing problems (semi's, DD's, etc), as more producers start selling on the web, price becomes a primary importance above service, human contact, etc.

this will drive margins very low and cause producers to seek even more automated procedures and cut jobs.

IT SUCKS!

Rashid, I agree. In spite of my current SI bearish reputation, I am a long term bull. This may be a big correction and could last until folks wake up on 1/1/2000 and realize that the world did not end. The years 2000 and 2001 will be great years for the market.
