Thank you, John and Izzie, for your support. You are both right. That post is definitely not my style; no research, no links, and I don't use language like that. Although that name rings a bell... Steve, you must think a lot of women to immediately assume that any criticism must come from one of "us" and that any woman with any knowledge must have connections or get her information from someone. I don't work for Agouron, I do all my own research and spend many hours reading, just for my own interest. You can find everything you want to know about AIDS, cancer, Agouron, etc on the Internet. I have called IR occasionally and found them to be very helpful and pleasant. I have learned a lot since I first read about the stock in the WSJ in 1996 and then started following this thread and all the very intelligent posters who used to be active. Most but not all are on the sidelines. What I have learned does give me confidence in the company. I would rather the stock price be higher too, but there are many factors that account for that. And it has nothing to do with IR. I think what you and some others would like is the type of CEO that John Metcalf described last year, someone to pump up the stock and issue lots of press releases: >>To all: would you be happier with a used-car-sales-type in leisure suit and white shoes, waving his arms and screaming, "Who's got the best PI? Try Merck! Try Abbott! Try Roche! We guarantee two logs of viral load suppression, or your first refill is free. So c'mon down! Torrey Pines Blvd....">>Message 2911494 I'm sure it must be painful for you, losing all that money, but take some responsibility for your own actions. No one made you buy the stock at the top and hold onto it. I don't know why anyone would put so much money into a company and industry that they know nothing about. In your own words: <<Admittedly, I do no understand this industry, but I'm not stupid.>> Message 5091457 I'm glad you added that last part because that is one thing I have little tolerance for. And so you won't feel that bad, the NASDAQ futures are up 30 (3000) now.
