Jason, why is it we only see your name on about every other post around here when the stock is getting crushed??? Sounds a lot like gloating to me.

Actually, if you recall, after you shorted, I believe the stock went up about 33% to over 48. I suppose we all should have taken that opportunity to jump all over you and point out how wrong you were. So, so far you were dead wrong for one time period, and right on one time period. And when WinStar eventually recovers, you'll be wrong again. Everybody is right some time. But I agree, your gloating and obvious delight is very unbecoming.

Further, since the last time period you were gracing us with your presence, while WinStar was rising 33%, your favorite WIND, which you were advocating with it's positive earnings, was falling from around the 37-38 area all the way down touching the 20's. I hope for others sake that someone wasn't uncool enough to be gloating and rubbing it in everyones face on the WIND thread during that period.

Also, I just took a quick look at your WIND chart and don't see much worth gloating about there either. It looks to me like WIND is at about the same price as it was at the end of 1996 and 1997. That's really high performance worth bragging about during the greatest bull market of all time. Do all companies with real earnings go up so fast? (BTW, you didn't say whether or not you were long WIND. Are you allowed to comment?)

So all in all, I don't see you being right anymore than anyone else here. So what's your point? If we give you that based on a 5 month time frame you were right, will you get off it and shut up? Or is it something else, like your own pain has been so great that you only ease it by unloading it on others?

And cut with the "I'm not gloating" BS. Your attitude is coming across way too strong.

PS, looks like a huge rally in the morning. We're due for a decent run up, but I wouldn't bet on it holding.

Jason: The market purports to be forecasting the prospects of equities in the medium term future. t theoretically says that american companies will be negatively impacted by russia, asia, etc. Then, since the medium-short term futurer is less rosy, it says value must decrease. Unfortunately, as you well know, the markets are not rational. In this instance, the short, near and medium term prospects for winstar are much better, not worse, than at present. We are not subject to russian or asian turmoil, are executing well and have growth at huge levels due to rollout. Margin improvement is there with increased on net customers, and as we see in todays announcement, PMP is proceeding, which will greatly increase margins and network capacity. So, winstar's prospects for the future---what investment is really all about, are significantly better than the average equity. We have been caught in an overall downdraft. None of us knows how deep or long. But when people stop irrational selling and reassess individual prospects, we should do nicely among less risk-averse investors. Point is---we should do better than most because our prospects are better. Irrational to take money fromus and park it with,,eg, KO.
